1. What does The Laptop Exchange® do?

 

Our main expertise is buying broken laptops and repairing them back to factory condition.  If this cannot be done, we use the parts that are working and the rest are sent to be recycled.  We are here to do a service to our community while taking part in keeping the enviroment clean.  

 

2. How does the process work when selling my broken laptop?

 

The customer completes a "Quote Form" online or contacts us via phone.  Once  the quote amount is agreed upon between both parties a pre-paid shipping label will be sent out thru Fed-ex via email.  The customer must ensure that their computer is wrapped in bubble wrap properly for shipping.  Any damages to the laptop caused by improper packing may affect the quote.  Fed-ex will be held liable for any shipping damages. When The Laptop Exchange® receives the laptop our certified technicians will then take 24 hours for inspection.  This inspection includes the following;

 

• Make

• Model

• Hard drive condition

• Software

• Original Production Date

• Physical Condition

• Specifications

• Missing/Included Accessories

 

Once the overall condition of the computer has been confirmed against the initial quote, it will be submitted for payment.  This process takes 24 hours to disperse.  The entire process takes 48 hours from the time that we receive the laptop.

 

3. What happens to the personal information on my hard drive?

 

Privacy and security are our top priorities when receiving a new computer. The first step that is taken is the hard drive is wiped clean using the markets top data eliminating software.  Then the hard drive is reformatted.  There is no need to worry about clearing data before shipping your laptop.

 

4. What are the ways I can receive my payment?
